![]() Combat sites can be found throughout all types of space in New Eden, now including null security and wormhole space. I can see the arguments for going pirate ship instead, but I feel that the (relatively) low attack bonus, coupled with the (relative) ease of obtaining upgrades, makes crow’s nest a better bet.Combat Sites are a broad class of locations involving player versus environment (PvE) combat, usually in engagements against pirate faction enemies. Yes, you will miss completely some days and get none of those, but even then you still get 8 fp-which is 4 more than a pirate ship. On top of that, on days when you miss, the 50 goods and 12 fp rewards are no slouch. That translates to 25 diamonds every 3 weeks for each crow’s nest you have. Another is that you can acquire a level 1 ship and ship upgrades through the auction house, unlike the crow’s nest, which currently can only be obtained in the yearly pirate event. ![]() One reason is that the pirate ship’s attack bonus does not scale with era, and by SAAB you’ll have access to plenty of 3x3 buildings (via the auction house and events) that give equal or higher attack boosts. You obviously need fp to finish tech and level GBs, and goods are occasionally important (though abusing RQs with a decent CF should deal with your goods needs), but so much of the game is built around getting rewards of some sort just for winning combats. For context, I’ve been playing for about 2.5 years, I’m in SAAB, north of 100mil, and have about 950/350 attack bonus and more fp than I know what to do with.Īs I’ve progressed in the game, it’s become clear that attack bonus is king. Here’s my rambling logic, if it helps anyone. I have a crow’s nest and 4 pirate ships (from previous years), and I’m going crow’s nest.
